Phnom Penh: President of the Cambodian People's Party, Hun Sen, welcomed Dr. Sam In to join the Cambodian People's Party. This welcome is after Mr. Sam In sent a letter requesting to join with the CPP on the evening of April 2, 2023.

President Hun Sen wrote on his social media: "I just received a letter from Dr. Sam In requesting to join the CPP. On behalf of the Cambodian People's Party, I warmly welcome Dr. Sam In to join the Cambodian People's Party. On behalf of the Royal Government, I would like to request the Royal Decree appointing Dr. Sam In as Secretary of State of the Ministry of Environment in accordance with the skills he has and can do".

In a letter requesting political participation with the CPP, Mr. Sam In stated that his request was due to his understanding of the Royal Government-led Rectangular Policy, especially policies related to sustainable development, The work environment supports the protected area community, which contributes significantly to the protection of natural resources and poverty reduction in remote rural areas, the experience and satisfaction of these activities.

"I am motivated to help the Ministry of Environment because I have the skills, knowledge, experience and satisfaction in these matters," he said.

It should be noted that before asking to join the CPP, Mr. Sam In had the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors (Acting) and from the membership of the Grassroots Democracy Party.
